Orienting to 2024
Imagine moving into 2024 with the tools to meet the year beyond the goals and intentions you set for yourself.
A year of connection with Self, even when the curveballs of life come your way.
A year filled with a simple but profound practice that centers orienting to what you value and desire while also acknowledging that life happens and plans change.
Imagine welcoming this shifting path as part of life instead of a personal failure.
During this time of year we begin to be bombarded with messaging about the new year. Goal setting, intention setting, word for the year, and new planners filling us with hope that the new year will be our year. We move into the new year with the best of intentions and then….LIFE HAPPENS.
Of course life happens, you are human. And the fact is we have a lot less control over our lives no matter what culture tells us. We cannot predict a loved one’s illness, a financial set back, world crisis that pull on us, or any other life happening. Living is an unpredictable experience.
So what does this mean…should you ignore your impulse to plan for the future?
Of course not. A vision, a goal, a plan is for many of us something to move towards and humans need something to orient to. The question is how can you do it in a way that honors your system and doesn't fall into hustle culture.
Envision coming to the end of 2024 with a sense of life happened, upended all (most, some) of my plans and yet, the year feels like a success (whatever success means to you). This is what learning the art of orienting means.
Orienting is the skill to come back to what we value when we are pulled again and again by outside forces.
It is about letting those outside forces inform our journey without complete annihilation and honoring disorientation as a part of the journey.
Join me for an evening of exploration through parts work, guided visualization, and the use of symbols (oracles, art, tarot) on how to orient to the new year with more spaciousness, curiosity, and self compassion.
