Power Within: Revisioning the Tarot
(part 1)
"A society based on the principle of immanence (power-within) would certainly not be utopian. It would be dynamic, alive with the drama of conflicting needs and choices, with a constant demand for new and creative solutions. Conflict, when it is not resolved with violence, spurs growth and keeps life interesting. Nor would the creation of such a society be impossible, although it would undoubtedly be difficult. It would mean choosing different priorities, envisioning new forms and new structures, and grappling with new ideas." ~ Starhawk from Power-over and Power-within.
How often when you work with the cards do you give your power over to them?
How many times do you sit to be with the cards knowing that an external message/guidance would be easier/more comfortable than considering your own inner experience?
How often do we use the cards to bypass what we already know in hope of external validation and releasing accountability?
What would it be like to be with the Tarot in a new way? A way that doesn't take your power away? A way that invites you to own your agency, your decision making power, your critical thinking skills, and your skills of creation?
This new way is what I call Revisioning the Tarot.

Together we will explore where the tarot came from, the power-over/authority that the system holds, and envision a new way forward. A way that doesn't make the book the final word, but gives your voice a place among the many who have created and shaped this system. We will explore the 78 tarot cards as a living system, one that is ready to be reconstructed and reimagined beyond the dominant cultural discourse associated with the system.
Join me as we reclaim the Tarot to be a source of inspiration and personal insight.
During our time together:
- We will do live readings together.
- Build nervous system capacity by exploring the cards as a resource.
- Broaden your knowledge of the cards beyond the books & our personal symbols.
- Unlock the wisdom the cards hold for more ease, steadiness, clarity, and direction.
You will learn:
